The Eviction Solidarity Network (ESN) is a group of local nonprofits supported by volunteers and anchored by BASTA (Building and Strengthening Tenant Action/Buscando Acción y Solidaridad Que Transforme el Arrendamiento).

The Eviction Solidarity Network envisions a city where the power dynamic between landlords and tenants is shifted so that tenants have the time, resources, knowledge and rights to have autonomy and control over their homes to prevent evictions in pursuit of housing justice. We want to change the culture around evictions inside and outside the courtroom by emboldening tenants facing eviction to appear in court and exercise their rights.

We believe that eviction is a systemic problem, not an individual failure, and work to remove the shame of eviction by making sure tenants in Austin know how common eviction is. You are not alone!
